Leisure-time activities at Stover Strand and environment

At the Stover Strand you can:

• go fishing
• go swimming. Two big and beautiful beaches with lawns belong to our campsite.
• Ride a bike and skate. The ‘Elberadweg’ (a road for bikes) passes directly at our campsite and goes from Cuxhaven to Magdeburg. By riding a bike or skating you can explore the beautiful landscape or the small villages of the ‘Elbmarsch’. We will gladly lend a bike to you.
• Play football or basketball. Our great fields are perfect to practise every kind of sport.
• Have a barbecue or a campfire.
• Use our children’s playground.
• Play minature golf.
• Go boating or water-skiing. A habour belongs to our campsite.
• Go hiking on the wunderful foothpaths e.g. to the damming up of the Elbe, to Europe biggest fish-staircase, to the bird-protectorate and to so much more idyllic places.

Sights at the vicinty:

• Winsen/Luhe, the town with the old castle and the great indoor pools with a sauna.
• Hambourg, the big city with the great habour, the fish market, Hagenbecks zoo, the great shopping experience, the immense cultural offer (musicals, numerous museums e.g. for art, fishing and seafaring,…), many atractions e.g. the ‘Hamburg Dungeon’, Europs biggest miniature railway,…. We can also give you the Hambourg card which makes it possible to participate on many rides in Hamburg and the vicinity for free and with that you get reduced prices for many museums and sights as well as for city sightseeing tours and habour tours.
• Lüneburg, the thousand year old salt-city with old monuments and a modern cure-center with wave- and saltpools.
• Lauenburg, town of the fishermen near the Elbe with the Elbe-shipping-museum.
• ‘Lüneburger Heide’ with the animal park ‘Niendorf’ and the beautiful landscape.
• Scharnebeck, with Europs biggest ship lift.
• Vierlande, the biggest cultivation of flowers in front of Hambourg.
• Friedrichsruh, explore the wide forest ‘Sachsenwald’ with the ‘Garden of the Butterflys’
• Geesthacht, with the modern out door swimmingpool, the ‘Energypark’ and the 3200 year old house of the daeths in ‘Tesperhude’.

Elbeshipping:

Have the experience of ‘let the daily routine behind you’ and enjoy a romantically tour on to the Elbe. (Groups can start right from the habour of the Stover Strand.)
